About
Metria Innovation, Inc. was founded
in 2008 by Brian Armstrong, Todd Kusik, and Robert Barrows to change the way 3D motion is captured with their unique Moiré Phase Tracking (MPT) system. MPT technology uses the application of
an optical moiré pattern on highly-engineered markers to provide true 3D measurement with a single camera. No other existing 3D motion capture system uses this technology.
With
funding from private investors, National Institutes of Health, and other sources, Metria’s founders have
developed the MPT technology from proof of principle through prototype testing
to commercial application. Today, MPT technology has been validated for
motion capture at Movement Performance Institute in Los Angeles and MPT motion
tracking systems are running on more twenty MRI scanners in the US,
Europe, and Japan.
