Dr. Armstrong is president and co-founder
of Metria Innovation, Inc. and is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Brian has his Bachelors of Science
degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from MIT, and a Ph.D. in
Electrical Engineering (Robotics) from Stanford. He has extensive
experience in spatial sensing, estimation, robotics, and real-time systems, and
has worked with a number of spatial sensing modalities, including microwave,
array-Doppler radar, and, for the past 8 years, the development of Moiré
Phase Tracking. He has published over 80 papers and presentations, and holds 12
patents and patents pending, including several for single-camera 3D motion
capture. Dr. Armstrong was previously the CEO of MetriCam, Inc., and
earlier the Chief Technology Officer of Go Sensors, Inc. He has directed
the development of Moiré Phase tracking, including a multi-year
project that achieved a 720 times speedup of MPT image processing and
adaptation of the technology to operate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
(MRI) scanners.
